The following are tips and tricks to help you throughout the game. Setting up an economy for your base so that you are self-sufficient is vital to being able to have the minerals and credits necessary for research and production.

Starting Tips

1) You cannot be a jack-of-all trades on one academy. Do not distribute your attributes evenly. Go for 165(atk), 163 (def/speed) in primary and rest in secondary attribute if you are looking for attack or defense spec. Talk to your corp before using your attribute points to get suggestions on best distribution.
2) Finish the main quests (9 chapters, lvl 30) before moving into null sec or to your corp’s home system.
3) Focus on one nation (ship type) doing the licenses (RS for DMG, NEF for Def, any for speed pilots)
4) Focus on two weapon types so you do not run into a research level cap. One should be primary and then the secondary to assist with leveling the research cap.
5) Specialize one scientist recruit for research. This will be discussed in depth in the recruit section.
6) Don’t use T2 ships (until 100% of equipment can be T2). Never fly T2 ships with T1 parts.
7) Do 160 galactic points daily. This is discussed further in the Leveling and Growing Section.
8) Do special operations weekly.
9) Do at least 20 reputation quests weekly.
10) Do research on ship damage resistances. Check out the Setting up for Success section for more discussion on the basic research.
11) Save your restoration contracts for expensive losses later
12) Use corp points for Minerals, Widgets , Relocations, (NOT on research speed ups)
13) Build up a stock of relocation speed ups
14) Join Red Star Discord and let the Boot Camp Commanders guide you to success whether you wish to play without spending or you want to invest in your account. This game is not Pay To Win, so either playstyle is accepted in Red Star. 🙂
