Recruits chipped for mining and bounty missions are chipped very much in the same manner, so we will discuss them together. Mining will only use the miner recruits, while bounty can use soldiers, scientists, and engineers. I generally prefer to use engineers for bounty because they have very little use in the game outside of that. There are a few engineers that make niche wingmen, but only a few. Unlike research and production microchips, there are only 3 different chips for mining and bounty recruits.
- Bounty Quests Time Cost Reduction (reduces the amount of time to finish bounty task)
- Bounty Quests Rewards Bonus (increases amount of credits and rewards you receive in a bounty task)
- Bounty Quests Bonus (splits bonuses between time reduction and reward increase)
- Mining Efficiency Bonus (reduces the amount of time to finish a mining task)
- Mining Quests Rewards Bonus (increases amount of minerals and rewards you receive)
- Mining Quests Bonus (splits bonuses between time reduction and reward increase)
How to Chip
There are two ways you could chip up these recruits, but I will strongly recommend the second method. Due to there only being three microchips available for bounty or mining, you will have two slots left for other things. While you could put on a t1r4 chip for higher bonuses (shown in method 1), it is better if you give the recruit either combat bonuses (bounty tasks) or resistance bonuses (mining tasks). The second method is preferred because dispatches can be raided by enemy pilots. The miners do not have weapons, so increasing their combat abilities is not as beneficial as making them harder to kill. Bounty recruits will engage when shot at, so increasing their firepower and critical damage gives them a better chance of killing smaller pilots who raid.
Method #1
- t3r*/t2r5/t1r4 Bounty or Mining Quests Time Cost Reduction (depending on task)
- t3r*/t2r5/t1r4 Bounty or Mining Quests Rewards Bonus (depending on task)
- t3r*/t2r5 Bounty or Mining Quests Bonus (depending on task)
Method #2
- t3r*/t2r5 Bounty or Mining Quests Time Cost Reduction (depending on task)
- t3r*/t2r5 Bounty or Mining Quests Rewards Bonus (depending on task)
- t3r*/t2r5 Bounty or Mining Quests Bonus (depending on task)
- t3r*/t2r5 Recruit Firepower, Recruit Weakness Strike, Recruit Shield RES Boost (first two are for bounty, last is for miners)
Whichever direction you go, when sending out your recruits, you will want to select a group of four that give you the best rewards. However, the time bonus does cap out at 50%, so keep that in mind when you are selecting your teams.
